‘₹19 lakh security deposit!’: Canadian citizen’s viral post on Bengaluru’s sky high rent triggers massive debate

The rental market in Bangaluru expands a new range in 2025, with the average rental rental by 15.7 % in the first quarter – exceeding most of the main Indian metro. In the main pockets, the tenants stare at an increase of 20 to 25 %, driven by the infrastructure that is unabated and close to the airport.

Hot points now require huge rents, forcing many technology specialists to spend nearly half of their income on housing. External lists, such as 3BHK in Hararal, which demands $ 2.7 per month with an amazing deposit of $ 15, reflects widespread frustration due to high high and unexpected high prices.

Amid these side and rented tensions are fermentation, with complaints about exploitative fees and highly slope deposits. Although some of the first-level societies see that tenants belong to 10-15 % rental cuts, the market is still able to compete in a very evil manner, leaving the tenants torn between absorbing punishing costs or exploring the ownership of homes.

When picking up angry tenants, a Canadian citizen living in India sparked a vibrant discussion on the Internet after highlighting the jaw rental deposits that suffer from the property scene in Bangaluru.

CALEB Friesen moved to the X -Twitter social media platform to share a 3BHK apartment in Diamond District, Domlur – but it was not the only rent that caused a stir. She left the security deposit $ 19.25 for amazing users.

The monthly rent reached the monthly month at $ 1.75. Calib indicated that the deposit was beyond the mind.

“19 Cham rupees to deposit security! Absolutely what the owners expect these days. I can literally buy Mahendra revolted with less than this deposit. Any person knows a place in/about Undranegar with a deposit of only 2-3 months? The rental price range is 80,000 rupees to 1 for 1.”

Soon his viral post went, as he recorded more than 18,000 views and a mixture of humor, advice and disbelief.

A user mocked, “Don’t buy a revolt. This is for the sake of distinguished people only,” while another note, “The rental rent and the non -negotiable deposits!

Others made practical suggestions. One of the residents suggested, “Searching for a 2BHK colleague, not to be deposited, just the starting feature of your videos.”

“You can buy an apartment in Kolkata for this amount!” “Lol, yes, in Aizz, where I live now. Crazy.”

Some of the comments were more pragmatic, and I urged Kalb to explore Maadevapura to get better deals or depend on local intermediaries instead of online searches.

But for many, the numbers were simply amazing. A user also summarizes: “Damn! This is very huge.”
