Google Doodle celebrates International Women’s Day 2025 with honouring women in STEM fields

Google puts on 2025 International Women’s Day with special innovative logo graphics that celebrate women’s contributions to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The artwork for this year praises the pioneering women who broke the barriers and advanced discoveries and aims at future generations.

Since the United Nations officially recognized the International Women’s Day in 1973, today it was a tribute to women’s achievements in various fields. However, STEM is still one of the most balanced industries, as women make up only 29 % of global workforce.

Honoring Trailblazers in STEM

“Through our innovative logo drawings, we honor women in the fields of STEM. The artwork in innovative slogan drawings is the leading contributions by women who revolutionized space exploration, and revealed old discoveries, and pioneers in the field of laboratory research that mainly understood our physics, chemistry and biology. These achievements represent just a small part of women’s contributions to science.

Despite the progress of gender equality, the stem gender gap is continuing. However, Google noticed that the number of women who enter these fields increases steadily, indicating a shift towards more inclusiveness.

A legacy of flexibility and progress

The roots of the International Women’s Day go back to February 28, 1909, when the first national day for women was observed in the United States, the movement began a year ago, in 1908, when 15,000 women walked in New York City, demanding better working conditions, fair wages, and voting rights. This led to one of the largest women’s rights protests in the afternoon, and ultimately interested in the way for global recognition of this day.

Today, the International Women’s Day 2025 stands as a celebration of the unlimited flexibility, progress and potential of women. While the achievements are recognized in STEM and abroad, the focus remains on building a future as sex is no longer dictating opportunities.
