Rockel admitted that she was initially “totally against” posting profits, citing the responsibility creators have when it comes to influencing their audience. However, she admitted that she made a one-time exception and did so knowingly. “If you do something that makes people a little angry, that’s OK,” she explained. “That’s why I showed what I made in about an hour because it was a taste of anger.”

Rockelle stands by OnlyFans numbers after backlash

Despite the backlash, Rockel stuck by the decision, stressing that the numbers are legitimate. “All the numbers are real,” she said, adding that she doesn’t plan to get into the habit of publicly sharing income in the future. “I’ll stick with that rule. I don’t think I would probably do it year-round if you know it’s worth showing. But I think from now on I don’t want to ever show it unless it’s some kind of thing.”

Throughout the conversation, Rockel emphasized that her goal was never to pressure others to follow the same path, even when her success sparked widespread interest. “I don’t think you should live for other people,” she said. “I just do what I want to do.”

She revealed that even after she turned 18 and launched other businesses, YouTube refused to re-monetize her. “I thought they would give me my money back when I turn 18 and have my own business, but they refused,” she said.

Financial pressures made it impossible to continue producing the kind of high-quality content that fans have come to expect. “Last time I filled my whole house with sand. It was like a beach and it cost about $20,000,” Rockel pointed to one great example, before adding bluntly: “I can’t do it without the money, right?”

Beyond the financial hit, she acknowledged the emotional impact of losing the platform that defined so much of her childhood. “This is like my whole life there,” she said of her channel. “I still cry about it, you know?”
