Trump-Putin phone call about ending Ukraine war is underway: White House

The White House said president Donald Trump is now talking to Russian President Vladimir Putin about ending the war in Ukraine.

“Several elements of the final agreement were agreed, but it is still much,” White House spokesman Dan Skafino said at 10:54 am.

Trump wrote in his social novel: “Thousands of young soldiers, and others, are killed. Every week, 2500 deaths brings a soldier, from both sides, and it must end now. I look forward to a large extent to call with President Putin.”

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that the two leaders will talk about the war in Ukraine, but there are a “large number of questions” regarding the normalization of the United States and Russian relations, according to Associated Press.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Tami Bruce said on Monday that “the ball is now in the Russian Court” to accept the ceasefire deal by the United States, which Ukraine agreed last week, “Foreign Ministry spokesman Tami Bruce said on Monday.

The US -backed proposal, which includes an immediate ceasefire for 30 days, has been completed and a guaranteed appeal for US military assistance and intelligence for Ukraine, during diplomatic talks in Saudi Arabia last week.

“Ukraine expressed its willingness to accept the American proposal with an immediate end of 30 days for 30 days to the Russian-Ukraine conflict. The ball is now in the Russian court,” Bruce said during a press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The last time Trump and Putin spoke in mid -February.

“I just received a very lengthy and fruitful phone call with President Vladimir Putin from Russia. We discussed Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the strength of the dollar and various other issues,” Trump said at the time.

“We have been reflected in our great history of our countries, and the fact that we fought with great success in World War II, we remember that Russia has lost tens of millions of people, and we have lost a lot! Trump continued.

He also said: “We talked about the strengths of our countries, and the great benefit that we will one day make at work together. But first, as we agreed, we want to stop millions of deaths that occur in the war with Russia/Ukraine.”
