1.23 Friday Faves – The Fitnessista
Hello friends! Happy Friday! How are you? What are you doing this weekend? I hope all my friends in the path of the winter storm are staying safe and comfortable. This weekend, we have an NCL event at the food bank, a date night (!) and a class. I’m also wrangling these little puppies in between working through some IHP units.
Last week, I took an amazing little trip to San Diego for our mastermind. We hold events several times each year, and I always look forward to the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from Jill. I was especially excited about this because it was an excuse to see and catch up with my best friend Betsy.

My flight arrived very early on Wednesday, so I would have some time to relax before the events. It was chaos here with little Lola – she’s so cute but man, puppies sure are a lot of work – so I headed straight to Betsy’s. I was able to see her before she headed to work for the day, and was able to use her house as a hub before checking into the hotel.
I had coffee at Better Buzz and took it to the Mission for a fun hour-long walk by the ocean. Lunch was a to-go meal from Tender Greens, which I took to Betsy’s to enjoy before 1:1 client calls.
When Betsy came home, we took Lagree’s lessons (the best!!):

(Get this shirt in at least 6 colors. It’s comfortable, long, and doesn’t ride up with a built-in bra)
Then he went to dinner at Ponyboy’s. It’s elevated 50’s comfort fun with the opportunity to add caviar to many of their offerings. 😉 We will definitely come back! The drinks and food were very good, and catching up with Betsy for food + cocktails was just what I needed.

I met my best friend Giselle at the hotel, and the rest of the weekend was full of sessions, brainstorming,

Great meals, long walks, more Lagree (I went three days in a row for the first time ever. My legs and torso also died), and I slept through the night. Bless him.

It was great to see Tina! We keep in touch via text but I haven’t seen her in person in years.
This was just the little refresher I needed, and it’s always a pleasure to return to one of my favorite places.

(I wear these jeans all the time <- on sale now)
Right now, it’s time for our weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your favorites too, so please say something you love in the comments section below.
1.23 Friday Favorites
fashion, beauty and randomness:
Picnic in Sabino Valley with family. The river was running and the weather was perfect.

We can always count on P for snacks:

(The kids are obsessed with candy canes and I got the last box from the “Last Chance!” section at Whole Foods. Goodbye candy canes for another year.)
We also tried Chilln; New ice cream spot in Tucson. You choose your own base, mixes, and toppings, and then they instantly freeze them with nitrogen so the texture is super smooth.

This is almond milk ice cream with olive oil and sea salt. I wanted to try something there and this did not disappoint. Maybe we went twice in two days?
Read, watch, listen:
Have you watched the last season of Emily in Paris? I’ve only been in a few episodes, and while I think it moves slower than previous seasons, it’s perfect for escapism.

Fitness, health and good eating:
Local Friends: Penelope’s Gluten Free Pizza! All you have to do is call and order 24 hours in advance as they make everything in house and the bread takes a long time to proof. This would definitely be a regular thing here:

To be completely honest, I haven’t been the best at making healthy lunches for myself. The days are full of calls, so I’d eat quick meals like granola, steak sticks, or potato chips in the afternoon. I usually make a large batch of soup, and I would feel overwhelmed.

My friend Giselle recommended Thistle and it was amazing. The meals contain no added gluten (some contain oats, so be careful of the ingredients if you’re sensitive) and there are vegetarian and meat-based options. I ordered four lunches and two snacks and they were all fresh and delicious. You can try it and save 60% off your first week through my referral link here!
This flavorful Thai red curry with ground chicken has a ton of veggies and 29 grams of protein.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today! Have a great weekend and I’ll see you soon!
xoxo
