The actor said he did it because he wanted to “control the narrative” and “move on” when his son started hearing about it and wanted to know what it was about.

This comes amid news that Jason Biggs and his former co-stars may not return for the fifth installment of the classic film, with reports claiming negotiations have fallen through.

Biggs recently appeared on “The Julia Cunningham Show” on SiriusXM and revealed that he had to talk to his son about his famous “American Pie” scene.

The 47-year-old actor explained that he did so because he wanted to “control the narrative”, as his son was already hearing whispers from outside sources.

“They kept hearing about ‘American Pie’ and pie and [asking]“Daddy, what are you doing with the pie?” And I had to have a conversation with my eldest son,” Biggs claimed, per Explosion. “I actually showed him the scene. Jenny and I talked about it, and we were like, ‘We want to move forward with this.'”

He continued: “I had to have a conversation with my eldest son. I already showed him the scene. “Jenny and I talked about this, and we were like, ‘We want to move forward with this.'”

“It’s my version of the sex talk, right? It’s like, how much do you want them to hear from friends and other people at school, and how much do you want to control the narrative, and that was literally happening with American Pie.”

In the scene in question, Biggs’ character is caught by his father (played by Eugene Levy) in an intimate moment with Pie.

After noticing that he had talked about the matter with his son, many social media users criticized him for doing so.

“It’s not appropriate for an 11 year old to see it,” one person wrote. Daily MailWhile another added: “He looks a little young but not shocking for the Hollywood type.”

Another person found it “disgusting” that the “Wedding Daze” actor thought it was a good way to tell his son, while another said he did it because he “needed attention.”

Others wrote harsh comments about Biggs, with one saying he and his wife had been “very annoying” for many years.

The catalyst for the father-son moment was due to an experience he witnessed first-hand while on a trip to New York City with his children.

A random man “walked by all of us and literally yelled at me, ‘Hey, it’s the damn pie,’ and I immediately looked at the boys,” he explained. But he was glad his children didn’t hear him.

Alongside Sid, Biggs is also father to 8-year-old son Lazio, whom he shares with wife Jenny Mullen. Speaking about the conversation he had with his eldest son, he noted that it was very embarrassing, but a father has to do what a father has to do.

“He was embarrassed to say it, really embarrassed, but I was like, ‘Okay. Let me show you. Let me show you what happened,’ and I showed him the scene, and he laughed and laughed,” the “Orange Is The New Black” actor said.

“He was definitely a little uncomfortable,” Biggs admitted. “He said I was a good actor,” he added.

In 2017, when Sid was about 2 years old, Biggs talked about what it would be like for him to talk to his kids about the infamous scene in “American Pie.”

“I envision a scenario where it’s like — I don’t know what grade it is, I hope it’s a little bit older — but one of his friends could come up and say, ‘Hey, I saw your dad’s lover on TV last night!’” Biggs joked. “That’s a very real possibility for our lives.”
