Laundry detergent sold on Amazon recalled due to bacteria contamination

A call was issued on Thursday in favor of Woolite Delecates Synundry, due to the risk of bacteria that could cause a “serious infection”.

Voluntary summons applies to more than 16,000 bottles of 50-ounces of the delicious Woolite cleaners exclusively sold to Amazon in January, according to a notification from the US Consumer Consumer Products Committee (CPSC).

Consumers with bottles with LOT S24364, S24365 and S24366, which are printed at the top of the bottle, should stop immediately using the cleaner.

CPSC said that products can contain Pseudomonas types of bacteria, including Pseudomonas oleovoransAn ecosystem that exists widely in soil and water.

“People with weak immune system or external medical devices who are exposed to bacteria face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment,” according to the agency.

Officials said bacteria could enter the body through eyes or through a skin break. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by bacteria.

As of Friday, no accidents or injuries were reported.

Customers who bought the product are directed by CPSC to contact the manufacturer, Reckitt, for a full recovery.

The returnees are required to write their name and “call” in a permanent mark in the back of the bottle, take a picture using the UPC and LOT code visible, and send the image by email to Consumercare_usa@reckitt.com.

Once a recovery is received, they can get rid of the product by closing the bottle tightly and throwing it in the trash.

CPSC warns customers against emptying the bottle before throwing it, not to recycle the bottle.

Pseudomonas can cause blood, lungs, urinary tract or other parts of the body after surgery, according to the CDC and Prevention Centers (CDC).
