Hegseth repeats claim that ‘nobody’s texting war plans’ after leak: ‘I know exactly what I’m doing’

On Tuesday, Defense Minister Beit Higseth appointed a correspondent questions about the leaked sign chat group that includes Trump administration officials discussing the upcoming strikes on the Houthis in Yemen.
Higseth was asked during a press blow in Hawaii whether the secrecy was lifted from the information before putting it in the sign chat and if it was using the correspondence platform to discuss sensitive operations such as strikes against the Houthis on a government or a personal apparatus.
Jeffrey Goldberg, Editor -in -Chief of the Atlantic Ocean, said he had received a request to join the group chat about the encrypted messaging service signal on March 11 of what appeared to be the National Security Adviser to President Michael Waltz. Goldberg released screenshots for some of the messages he noticed.
Goldberg reported that officials were discussing “war plans” in the group chat called “HOUHI PC Small Group”, but decided not to publish some of the very sensitive information he saw, including accurate information about weapons packages, targets and timing, due to the potential threats of national security and military operations.

Speaking in Hawaii on Tuesday, Higseth said that the strikes against the Houthis this night were “devastating.”
“I am incredibly proud of the courage and skill of the forces. They are continuing and are still devastating.” “The last place that I want to be now is the Houthis in Yemen, which wants to disrupt freedom of navigation, and therefore the skill and courage of our forces is fully offered.”
“It is a complete opposite approach that the Biden administration is not.”
Al -Amin also repeated his allegations that “no one was sending plans for war,” as Goldberg’s confirmation.
“As I mentioned yesterday, no one war plans, textual messages, and that’s all I should say about it,” said Higseth.
Presse by a correspondent on whether he regrets the leakage of information in the sign chat that could have endangered the life of American forces, Higseth claimed to have everything under control.
“No one war plans, textual messages,” repeated. “I know exactly what I do, exactly what we direct, and I am really proud of what we have accomplished, and the successful tasks that night and move forward.”
Goldberg said that 18 people were listed in the Signal Group, including Higseth, Waltz, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA director, John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence Tolsi Gabbard and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wales.

Ratcliffe also placed the CIA’s quick name in the signal conversation, Goldberg said.
The editor described Higseth’s denial as a “lie”, citing the messages he read, which put a specific time for the attack, human targets, arms systems and weather reports. He also said that he is considering publishing more messages to support his reports, as HegSeth and other Trump administration officials seek to discredit his reputation.
Higseth had earlier criticized Goldberg as a “deceptive and very recovered journalist, the so -called profession of deception and repeatedly, to include … the breach of Russia, Russia, Russia, or the wonderful people on both sides a trick or trick of the trick and the losers.
But the White House confirmed that the group chat “seems to be a series of authentic messages.”
“This seems to be a series of authentic messages, and we are reviewing how an unintended number has been added to the series,” said Brian Hughes, a White Security Council spokesman. “The thread is evidence of deep and thoughtful political coordination among senior officials. The continuous success of the Houthi process indicates that there are no threats to the forces or national security.”

The sign chat has been prepared as a major violation of national security, and many have noticed that major officials are supposed to discuss detailed military plans outside private safe facilities or protected government communication networks.
The Watchdog American American group filed a lawsuit against HegSeth and other officials who were in the collective chat, on the pretext that they failed to meet their obligations under the Federal Record law using a signal to communicate and plan active military operations.

Also on Tuesday, amid scrutiny about sign chat, HegSeth participated in some physical training with marine seals.
“Today started alongside SDVT-1 warriors in Jointbasephh,” Books on X. “These seals are the tip of the spear, the pillow of hide, endurance, and fragmentation. America’s enemies fear them-their allies trust them. They are proud to spend time with the best America.”
