Trump doubles down on need for Greenland ahead of Vance visit

president Donald Trump repeated his argument to the United States that took over on Wednesday, before the Vice President JD Vance was appointed to visit the island.
Trump said that his administration should “tell them that we need Greenland for international safety and security. We need it. We have to get it.” Vans and his wife, the second lady, Usha Vance, will visit the island -dependent on the island.

Trump went on to say he was not sure whether the Greenland people want to become American citizens, but he said it is important to “persuade them.”

“We must have the land because it is not possible to defend a large portion of this land – not just the United States – without it. So we must get it, and I think we will get it,” he said.

The vice president says he will visit the guardians of space at the Pitufik Space base on Friday and “check what is happening with security in Greenland.”
A press release from the Fansa office stated that the base is the “northern installation” of the Ministry of Defense.

Trump is still optimistic about the risk of Greenland: “I think it’s happening.”
“The strategic partnership between the United States and Greenland has long played a vital role in our national and economic security. During World War II, the United States has established more than ten military bases in Greenland to defend the Northern Ocean of Nazi incursion. During the Cold War, the United States committed additional resources to Greenland to defend the Soviet attack attack.”
