‘If you are broke and starting out…’: Sanjeev Bikhchandani on India’s April 1 compliance loophole

Info Edge Sanjeev Bikhcchandani, in a post on X, revealed how the compliance maze of quietly starting the start -up behavior. “If you are broken and started in the fourth quarter, you are doing work but you are merged on April 1,” he wrote, framed as advice to life from “Swami Confliananda”.

Bikhchandani’s post was not about leaves. It was also a path of memory – and a tribute to a strange coincidence on April 1, the day of its launch of some of the most permanent technology companies in India.

“Nucry was launched on April 1, 1997,” written. “Indiamart was launched a year ago on April 1, 1996 and Makemitrip three years later on April 1, 2000 if I remember correctly. [sic]”

He added: “It seems as if I was in the old days, you did not know your actual birth date.

The post caused a wave of reactions from the startup and Internet warriors alike.

Bakandani himself also impressed. “You are the master of Johari in capturing gemstones,” said one of the users, referring to his early bets on Zomato, Makemiytrip, PolicyBazaar. “Master to create technical companies … How did you do so constantly it would be good to know that, chants and many others [sic]”
