Here’s what happened during Trump’s 11th week in office

President Donald Trump celebrated the week by unveiling an unprecedented wave of definitions on imports to the United States, in line with his long position that benefited from other countries from the United States in trade.

Trump revealed the historical definitions at a ceremony in the Roses Park at the White House to attend the “Make America Wealthy again” event, stressing that these new duties will generate new jobs for American workers.

“For countries that have dealt us badly, we will count the joint rate of all definitions, non -cash barriers and other forms of fraud,” Trump said on Wednesday.

He said, “Because we are dealing with us, we will bear them nearly half of what they are while we are shipping.” “Therefore, the definitions will not be completely mutual. I could have done it. Yes. But it was difficult for many countries.”

Here is a closer look at the Trump tariff plan: What do you know about new duties?

The customs tariff plan determines the 10 % foundation tax on all imports of the United States, as well as the definitions allocated to countries that put a higher tariff on American goods. The basic definitions of 10 % will become valid on Saturday, while others will be valid on Wednesday.

The Trump administration previously imposed a 25 % tariff on imported vehicles, up to 25 % of the customs tariff on some goods from Mexico and Canada and a 20 % tariff on shipments from China. The definitions that were already imposed on Canada and Mexico are not affected, but the new customs tariffs in China will be added at the top of the previous duties in Beijing, according to the White House.

The definitions faced a violent reaction from both sides of congress, and the allies, including Canada and Australia. A group of Senate members of the two parties submitted on Friday legislation called the 2025 Commercial Review law, which requires the executive branch to provide Congress with a 48 -hour notice before imposing a customs tariff. Likewise, the scale will allow the definitions after 60 days, unless Congress moves to agree to a joint decision that is notified of duties.

Treasury Secretary, Scott Pessant, urged the two countries to impose a retaliatory tariff against the United States in response.

“My advice to every country is now: do not divide,” Pesin said in an interview on Wednesday with Fox News. “If you are missing, there will be an escalation.”

Trump confirms the shooting of the National Security Council as a snowball in the signals from Valz

Here’s what happened this week:

The shooting of the National Security Council

Trump It also revealed that many members of the National Security Council, headed by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz, opened fire on Thursday. Trump said that the shooting affected a few employees, and still has a high level of confidence in the national security team.

“We will always succeed the people we do not like or people who do not think they can do the mission or people who may have loyalty to another person,” Trump told reporters at Air Force One when asked about the media reports.

The shootings come amid the scrutiny about the use of Waltz to chat with a group of signals to discuss strikes in Yemen after a journalist accidentally added to the group.

Waltz created the group chat that included White House leaders such as Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseh. The chat also included the editor -in -chief of the Atlantic Ocean Jeffrey Goldberg.
