Congressional Democrats targeting 35 House Republican-held seats in 2026 midterms

The arm of the Democrats in the House of Representatives aims for nearly three dozens of Republican seats in the Chamber because they aim to strengthen the majority in the renewal elections next year.
On Tuesday, the DCCC Campaign Committee (DCCC) issued a list of the initial target for the year 2026, which included 35 GOP seats, and launched an effort to eventually collect donations for candidates in each of the provinces.
DCCC stressed that their movements indicate that “the Democrats are on the attack and are preparing to win a majority in 2026.”
The DCCC list is revealed three weeks after the rise of the Competitive National Republican congress (NRCC) with its primary target list, which seized 26 provinces controlled by Democrats in the House of Representatives.

Republicans are currently controlling the House of Representatives, when the Chamber returns to its full power, by a majority of 220-215.
“Republicans in the House of Representatives are afraid, and they should be. They run the economy, are fighting, and abandoning our warriors, and making everything more expensive. In short, they have lost the confidence of their voters, and the majority will cost them.”
Was last week’s elections in Wisconsin and Florida a crystal ball for the things that will come in the middle of next year?
While the Democratic Party witnessed great setbacks in the November elections – lost control of the White House and the majority of the Senate – Democrats in the House of Representatives took a small bite of the majority of the Republican Party’s home.
DCCC has noticed that the 2026 map is “more expansive than the beginning of the 2024 session, which reflects a political environment for public support for Republicans in the House of Representatives.”

Democrats, who refer to last week’s elections in Wisconsin and Florida, confirm that their voters are angry and surrounded by the resistance of President Donald Trump, the arrogant and controversial moves during the opening months of his second round in the White House, and claimed that the competitions were the acceptance of the things that will come in the middle of next year.
DCCC argued that the Republican parliament “refused to stand against Donald Trump and Elon Musk threatens the advantages of health care and income security that millions of Americans have gained, making our country less safe, and has sent our economy to two parts.”
Delpine, which indicates NRCC earlier this year, claimed its members to avoid the discussion of the city hall, that “Republicans in the House of Representatives are very afraid, and decided to hide from the public.”

DCCC said it would also launch the pages of the candidates’ fund, which it said provides “a means of donors at the base level to contribute now so that the resources are available to the democratic candidate in the end in these areas of play.”
While the party in power, which is clearly the Republicans, is traditionally facing the dangerous political winds in the renewed renewal elections, NRCC is optimistic that they can defend the majority of them.

If you look at the scene in the 2026 elections, there are only three Republicans in the regions [former vice president and 2024 Democratic presidential nominee] Kamala carried Harris, but there are 13 Democrats in the seats that Donald Trump carried, and half of those areas of Spanish origin have already operated by President Trump, “Representative Richard Hudson of North Carolina of North Carolina on Monday in a digital news interview.

NRCC also refers to the increasing number of Democrats in the House of Representatives looking for state levels in 2026 instead of running for his re -election.
Hudson said that the trend would help the Republican party defend the majority next year.
“It is much easier to win an open seat from a seat with the Democrats firmly,” Hudson said. “I think it is incredibly useful, and I think you will see more democrats run for other offices and retirement.”
