Chinese government tells airlines to halt Boeing order amid tariff wars

Chinese airlines were ordered not to take any other delivery of Boeing aircraft in response to the United States, which imposes a 145 % tariff on Chinese goods, according to Bloomberg news reports.

Immediately before 7 am EST, the Boeing share price fell 3.72 % before the market.

Aerospace calls itself “a better American source” serving “customers in more than 150 countries.

Boeing delivery operations appear over the date that 18 aircraft were delivered to nine flying in China. The three best airlines in the country-China Eastern Airlines and Southern China Airlines-plans to connect 45, 53 and 81 Boeing aircraft, respectively, between 2025-2027, according to Reuters reports.

Boeing considers China an opportunity to grow, according to Reuters, as the Airbus competitor occupies a dominant position.

Beijing also asked that Chinese transport companies cut the purchases of equipment and parts related to aircraft from American companies, the Bloomberg report, which is expected to raise the costs of maintenance of the aircraft flying in the country. However, the Chinese government is studying ways to provide assistance to airlines that rent Boeing aircraft and face higher costs, Bloomberg News said.

The United States and China were involved in the war of tariffs that resulted in president Donald Trump’s policies. Trump, who said on Friday, suggested that he is comfortable with definitions of China, also that the deal with Beijing may be on the horizon, but no agreement has been reached yet.

Last week, China raised the fees on US imports to 125 % in revenge on the American tariff.

It is 125 % duty to largely raise the cost of Boeing aircraft heading to Chinese transport companies, making them a financial burden and perhaps airlines to consider alternatives such as Airbus and Loveer Player Comac.

Boeing did not immediately respond to the Fox to comment.
