Trump warns reciprocal tariffs could resume in weeks as negotiations continue

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that mutual definitions could be re -imposed within weeks.

“We have been separated by every country in the world in practice. A friend and enemy,” Trump said at the Oval Office on Wednesday. “We no longer do that anymore.”

Trade Minister Howard Lootnick said that the administration has spoken with 90 countries looking to make trade deals with the United States so far.

“I think what will happen is that we have great deals. By the way, if we do not have a deal with a company or country, we will set the tariff,” Trump said. “This will happen, I will say within the next two weeks.”

“We will put the number,” Trump said. “It can also be China.”

Trump ranked 145 % customs tariffs imposed against China as “very high” and said it could be mitigated, but “this depends on it.” But so far, Trump said the number is standing.

“At the present time, it is 145 %. This is very high. It has arrived there because of the fentanel. They send, as you know, huge amounts of fentanel in our country and killing many people, and perhaps 200,000 in addition to a year, they wipe them,” Trump said. “In some way, it was almost exclusively made in China.”

“There are absolutely no negotiations on the economy and trade between China and the United States,” said Chinese, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. “If the United States really wants to solve the problem … it must cancel all mono measures on China.”

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Qouh Jiakoun also said on Thursday afternoon that there are no ongoing talks with the United States, CNBC said, referring to government media.

Trump said the tariff for China, as well as the 25 % fees on Mexico and Canada, obtained the United States from a loss between $ 3 billion and 5 billion dollars a day “to actually earn money.”

“We will earn a lot of money, and this money will be used to reduce taxes,” Trump said.

Trump hints to cut the Chinese definitions “in a large way” from 145 %

China threatened earlier this week “anti -mutual measures” with revenge on the countries that cooperate with the Trump administration’s calls to isolate Beijing.

145 % before a tariff was carried out, Trump said China is doing $ 1.1 trillion in working with the United States, while “we did little, relatively, with them.”

“This mainly means that China does not do any work with us, mainly, because it is a very large number,” Trump said. “It was one side, very unilateral. But we coexist. I am dealing with President Xi.

Beijing has already fell against the United States by imposing 125 % of the customs tariff on American imports and restricting critical metal exports.

“China definitely wants to see the trade war fading, because it hurts both economists.” “However, because Trump’s policies are not consistent with the lack of clarity about what he really wants, China’s strategy has turned from focusing on” what you need “to” what I need. “

“Their request to the United States to cancel the tariff” unilaterally “reflects this shift.”

“We also need to realize that this is the moment of” everything that it takes “in relation to China in terms of relations between the United States of China,” Suko added. “I will not be surprised if China adopts a more honest situation if the United States continues to escalate tensions.”
