Boston-area Dems buy thousands of ‘red cards’ to inform immigrants of their rights

Democrats in Massachusetts bought one of the thousands of red cards aimed at reminding migrants of their constitutional rights if they approached ice or relevant agencies.
The Democratic Committee in Midford, based in the northwest of Boston, has already bought 4,000 cards, designated for use by citizens and non -citizens alike.
The cards include the fourth and fifth amendment rights: protecting them from unjustified searches, sources and having to speak to the authorities without a legal advisor.
It is printed in English on the one hand, with translations in Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic and Haiti on the other hand, Midford Matthew Liming, on the committee website.

The legal complications of such an initiative are clear – and whether constitutional rights apply to illegal immigrants can be a hot point of discussion among legal scholars.
