Trump Appointees Blocked From Entering US Copyright Office

Two men claim Sources said that the newly appointed officials in the Trump administration tried to enter the copyright office in the United States in Washington, DC, on Monday, but they left before reaching the building. Their appearances come days after the White House, the director of the CRI PERLLMTER, who has occupied the job since 2020. Perlmter was removed from its platform on Saturday, one day after the agency issued a report that raised concerns about legitimacy in some cases that use copyright -protected materials to train artificial intelligence.

A source familiar with the Wire command tells that the two men who tried to enter the copyright office showed security in the building a document stating that it was appointed by the White House for new roles within the office. The source determined the men as Brian Neves, who claimed to be the new library’s deputy, and Paul Berkins, who said he was the new director of the Copyright, in addition to the acting record.

After the publication of this article, the Ministry of Justice confirmed to WIRED that NIEITES and Perkins have been appointed to lead the Publishing Rights Office. Both are currently high -level officials in the Ministry of Justice. The Ministry of Justice refused to comment on whether the two officials tried to enter the copyright office on Monday. The White House did not respond to a request for comment.

WIRED sources told the Capitol police prevented men from entering the Copyright Office, but the spokesperson for the law enforcement agency denied that the officers had accompanied anyone or deprived them of their entry.

The United States Publishing Office is a government agency within the congress Library that manages the country’s copyright laws, including addressing requests to creative work of copyright. Last week, the Trump administration launched the Secretary of the Congress Library, Carla Hayden, who was the first woman and the first black person to hold this position. The Secretary of the Congress Library is responsible for appointing the copyright record, not the executive branch.

Some critics say this means that this means that the White House does not have the ability to remove the leader of the copyright office as well. “The president has a lot of legal authority to dismiss the copyright record as I do, and this means: nothing.”

The document, also stated by the two men, stated that the Deputy Prosecutor Todd Blanche, who was previously a personal defense lawyer for Trump, is now a librarian.
