Former UK Prime Minister Lord David Cameron is holding talks to join the law office and DLA PIPER in pressure groups as a consultant, the latest roles in the private sector that he took in the wake of his departure from the government last year.

Cameron will advise the law firm and its leaders to advise geopolitical dangers, according to two people aware of this step, warning that the details of the role have not been completed yet.

DLA PIPER, ranked third largest law firm in the world by revenue, are pressure groups registered in the United States and the United Kingdom, although one of the people said that the former Prime Minister will not participate in pressure.

“He is an incredibly smart and curious person who will play an important role in advising [the firm] On various geographical regions and geopolitical risks.

Cameron was the Prime Minister of the Conservative Liberal Democratic Alliance in the United Kingdom from 2010 to 2015, then he led the subsequent conservative government until he resigned after losing a British referendum from the European Union in 2016.

In 2021, he suffered a reputation damage when he fell into a big scandal after FT revealed the pressure on Greensill Capital, a failed supply chain financing company

Cameron pressed ministers and civil service employees 56 times to try to secure Greensill to the state-run Covid-19 debt plans.

The collapse of Grenzel in 2021 led to criminal investigations in the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland. Cameron’s behavior is not believed to be the subject of these investigations. A committee of legislators in the UK said that he had shown a “great decrease in government” in his work for the company, but he did not break the rules of pressure.

The transition to DLA PIPER will require approval from the British Consulting Committee for Commercial Dates. Acoba rules require ministers and senior civil service employees to secure clearance for two years after the government leaves, to reduce the distinctive information capabilities that are used to achieve personal gains.

The authority cannot prevent an appointment, but it can be recommended that the role is “inappropriate.”

A DLA PIPER spokesman confirmed ongoing discussions and refused to comment more. A Cameron spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

DLA PIPER appears in the UK pressure record due to public affairs. The company says it provides “legislative and parliamentary calls, public services and … strategic contact advice.”

Cameron will be one of many previous political and diplomatic figures that advise the law office. The former Middle East peace envoy, George Mitchell, is a DLA PIRAPER adviser, and was a former president.

DLA PIPER was founded two decades ago by the United Kingdom -based DLA integration and two US -based companies, PIPER RUDNICK and Gray Cary WARE & FREIDENRICHH. It works through the Swiss Verein, a legal structure that allows its offices around the world to adopt the same brand but keeps the finance separate.
