Analysts warn shifting iPhone production to US would drive-up costs

Trump’s threat came after CEO Tim Cook said in May that more than 50 % of the produced iPhone devices that are supposed to be sold in the United States currently come from India to evade the definitions imposed on China.

But the production of iPhone in India can reach up to 60 % to 65 % by autumn.

He added: “With a 10 % politician and 90 % executive (perhaps 25 %/75 %), we believe that AAPL will continue to move in the complex tariff mode in the negotiating game, especially heading to iPhone 17 this fall.”

The Trump tariff threat comes against Apple after he met Cook at the White House on Wednesday.
