Falling gas prices could boost Trump approval ratings as Memorial Day arrives

When the Americans arrived on the road to spend the weekend, they get good news in gas pumps.
While gas prices have risen about 20 cents for gallons since President Donald Trump returned to the White House in January, according to Gasbuddy, the fuel saving platform, “All fifty states are less than the last anniversary.”
Gasbuddy notes that gas prices are “the lowest seasonal level (memorial day) since 2021.”
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) stated that when adjusting inflation, the average American retail prices on the weekend is 14 % lower than last year, and this is largely due to the decrease in crude oil prices.

As of Friday, AAA stated that the national average of ordinary gasoline amounted to $ 3.20 per gallon.
Although gas prices increase in the spring and summer, there is usually a rise in the production of demand for travel in summer and summer refineries to a mixture of summer gasoline – which is unlikely to evaporate but more expensive to produce them – Gasbuddy expects to reduce prices slightly over the next few months to the work day.
Oil prices have decreased during the past six months: What does gas prices mean?
The decrease in pump prices can be good political news for Trump and the Republicans who aim to defend the majority of the Senate and the Council in the renewal elections next year.
“Gas prices decreased for the third month in a row,” the White House was highlighted last week, as he argued, “workers see comfort in President Trump’s economy.”
Four months after his second tour of the duty in the White House, Trump surveys numbers are a little underwater, with most, but not all, from The latest national investigative studies Evaluation of the president’s approval in negative lands.
This was not the case when Trump was opened in January, when most opinion polls indicated that his approval classifications were above water.

The shareholder in the past two months in Trump’s comprehensive approval categories was his performance in the economy, especially inflation, which was canceling issues that kept the former president Joe Biden Approval categories are much lower than water for most of his presidency.
The Trump tariff declaration in early April sparked a trade war with some of the country’s major trading partners and sparked huge sales in financial markets and increased concerns about stagnation.

But the markets have flourished, and thanks to this is partly due to a truce between the United States and China in the face of the customs tariff, as Trump took advantage of the brake to implement the controversial tariff.
Jesse Hunt, the Republican strategic expert, told Fox News Digital that the current prices in the pump are “positive development” and that “seeing gas prices where a testimony is on the energy policy that the administration wants to follow, and will lead to more money in people’s pockets.”
But Darwin Show, a professor and head of politics at the University of Texas, who is the Republican partner in the Fox News poll, indicated that “with the exception of gas prices, there was not a lot of price reduction.”

“The prices have not decreased, and it is not clear that people will say that the absence of inflation is an economic victory. They still feel that a tangible part of their money will pay for the basic things,” Shaw added. “What Trump realizes is that the prices must decrease so that he can declare success.”

Hunt, an old warrior in many presidential campaigns and the second at the state level, said the Republicans “still have to discover a way to alleviate some pressure on family budgets through daily commodities such as groceries. They managed to control the eggs, which were a problem that threatens them early in the second administration.”
But referring to the Trump’s tax package and the reduction of spending, which went through a tone on the house on Thursday, Hunt said, “There is a lot of hope and optimism that, if the procedure, if transferred to the law,” will help “stimulate additional investments” and “will provide a kind of growth you need through the economy.”
