Democratic socialist Mamdani refuses to back Israel as Jewish state in NYC race

“I think it is a legitimate movement when it seeks to find compliance with international law,” he said.
“The effectiveness of the boycott tactics, withdrawal and penalties in order to stimulate this compliance at the state level, at the individual level and this is where my support comes to it.”
