Youngkin signs Virginia law limiting student cellphone use in public schools

Republican governor of Virginia, Glenn Youngin, signed a bill in law on Friday, which limits the use of a mobile phone for all primary, middle and high school students in Virginia.

Yongen, who built his political career that defends parental rights in education, signed a celebration of two versions of the draft law, HB1961 and SB738, at Carter C. Woodson Medium in Hobewell, Virginia. Yongen said it was a suitable site for a day full of this “hope.”

HopeWell City General Schools approved the “bag system” in its secondary schools at the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year, which was used as a study study and a possible model for purchasing free education from mobile phones in the Ministry of Education in Virginia.

Legislation at the state level requires school councils to develop public schools and activate policies to restrict students’ mobile use for students during the school day. The law includes exceptions for students who have individual educational plans, department plans 504 or health conditions, so mobile phones can be used when necessary.

The law also prevents schools from suspending, expelling, or removing students from separation to violate mobile phone policies.

Florida has become the first state to transfer a law to regulate the use of mobile phones in schools in 2023. More than half of all states now have similar laws.
