Amazon makes $20B AI data center investment in rural Pennsylvania

First on Fox – Amazon announced on Monday an investment of $ 20 billion in establishing artificial intelligence data centers in the rural Pennsylvania state.

This is the largest investment of companies in the history of Pennsylvania.

The investment, the first investment in the data structure of this scale in Keystone, will revolve in the town of Salem and the town of Fols in the Birwik region.

“We have just a great turnout here locally because we are about to issue this announcement, which I think reflects how society adopts this type of investment,” he said. “And because we will be in different locations, we will affect more than one town and more than one society. I think it will be very positive for them and very positive for us. What I mean is that we really integrate ourselves into the societies in which we invest. So you have the jobs that come with them.”

He said that coordination with the administration of president Donald Trump is very important.

“We are working closely with the Trump administration in terms of understanding the types of things they are trying to do to stimulate the investment of the continuous data center throughout the United States, which includes, as you may follow some of the executive orders they issued,” Kelog told Fox Business. “They have a number of policies they provide to facilitate the development of the data center infrastructure here in the United States, including what can be done to make allowing an alternative and faster.”

He continued, “This completely includes how we build data centers and operations and allow it, but the strength, the main strength in all of this. You must have energy to enable this type of continuous infrastructure in the United States, and therefore the administration really focuses on what can be done to expand the generation and transfer power across the country.”

Kelog said that the “Declaration of breaking the record” for Pennsylvania comes at the “critical” time and you are retreating and looking at both the national and international image. ”

“There is a global competition between the United States and other countries in terms of leadership on artificial intelligence,” said Keel. “This is the place where rubber meets the road, as you know, when you put this type of infrastructure of the data center in a country like Pennsylvania, to local towns and provinces like us we develop here in the rural Pennsylvania state, and this is essential in this global competition because you have to have infrastructure, and you have the basis for the cloud account, and you have all that competition.

Kelog, who also thanked the leadership of Democratic Governor Josh Shapiro, said that Amazon announced a $ 250,000 fund to help support non -profit organizations in the region.

“We are also really participating in investing in manpower development programs and skills development in these societies that we are doing,” said Kelge. “This is also very exciting for the people we train and the jobs that will be produced as a result of this training, as well as local institutions, including the community colleges, in which we participate.”

The deal comes at a time when Amazon and his colleagues are working Microsoft, Alphabet, Nvidia, Openai, Xai and others to expand infrastructure throughout the country, while promising jobs and other economic opportunities. Some cities and towns throughout America wonder whether it will benefit from it or that it will simply have to pay the bill to obtain tax exemptions, energy costs and potential environmental risks. He said that Amazon “has a positive target of water” and it “looks forward to being positive in every society in which we work by 2030.”

“We are very focused on making sure to achieve this broader goal,” he said. “This means in these communities, in many cases, we make investments in water systems to help promote and those types of things while we are expanding this infrastructure throughout the country, including here in Pennsylvania.”
