Nathan MacKinnon sends amusing message to Cale Makar for winning 2025 Norris Trophy

Cale Makar won the James Norris Cup for 2025, and his colleague Nathan McKinnon could only absorb some fun. The star of Colorado Avansh won the star of the cup for the second time in his career.
In a video clip shared by Avalanche, Makinnon Makar congratulated a friendly message.
“Caler, congratulations on Norris,” McKinnon said in the joint video on Instagram. “It seems that you have 10 years. It seems that it seems unbelievable. I don’t believe. I think we are all very lucky to play with you, man. You make our lives very easy. Obviously, one of the best players in the league, the best man in the world. Congratulations and many, I am sure.”
In the same video, his colleague Devon Taws also congratulated Makar:
“Cale, congratulations on the second Norris Cup. I’m sure you have 3 or 4 others, if I don’t focus on you, but I am proud of you.”
He congratulated Makar, the star of Denver Broncos, Pat Surtin, who won the Player of the Year award in 2024 in the US football Association, Makar.
“What is happening in Cale. I want to give great congratulations from one defensive player to another,” Surtain II said in the video posted on X by AVS. “Congratulations on another big prize. Congratulations a man.”
Makar won the Norris II Cup after the 2024-25 season. He led all NHL defenders with 30 goals and 92 points. Makar previously won the award in 2021-22 and was permanently five consecutive seasons.
Cale Makar receives the cup as a surprise from friends and family
With this NORRIS TOPHY victory, Cale Makar joins a legendary group of NHL cannons. He is only the sixth he wins twice during his first six seasons in NHL.
Only five others did: Bobby Or, Dennis Buffin, Rod Langui, Paul Kofi and Eric Carlson. In addition, there are only 14 players now won the award more than once.
Makkar was surprised by the news of his victory during his golf with friends and family. His parents surprised him with the cup.
“My first idea was frankly that one of the boys I was playing with a victory in some of the golf cup and was a surprise,” said Makar.
In just 26 years, Cale Makar continues to build a legacy as one of the top league members.
