Poll: Americans divided over Trump’s National Guard deployment to LA

A new national poll indicates that the Americans are divided into the deployment of president Donald Trump to the National Guard and the US Marines into the second most populated city in the country.

In order to extinguish the escalating protests in Los Angeles, which were ignited by the migration raids carried out by the ice in the direction of his administration, Trump sent the National Guard and even the Marine Corps. The turmoil and movements by the president dominated the headlines of national newspapers for a week.

Forty -one percent of adults across the country said in a poll at the Washington Post School/George Mason School, to the Sher School, they support the president’s move, with 44 % opposition and 15 % not sure.

The poll was conducted on Tuesday and more than 1,000 adults were interrogated throughout the country, including nearly 200 in the blue state of California.

The support of the president’s actions between the respondents in California reached 32 %, with an opposition of 58 %.

The survey also highlighted the expected huge party gap.

Eight percent of Republicans surveyed supported the President’s deployment of the National Guard and the Marine Corps in the streets of Los Angeles, with more than three quarters of Democrats who give a thumb on the Trump step.

A third of the independents agreed to send the forces, with approximately half of the opposition and about one out of every five not sure.

Trump took control of the National Guard in California without permission from the Democratic Governor Gavin News, which is the first time in 60 years that the President has submitted the National Guard forces without a ruler’s request.

The survey also indicates that Americans are divided over whether they support (39 %) or oppose (40 %) protests. Lonely more than one in five (21 %) was not sure of their support or opposition.

Seventy percent of Democrats – but only 39 % of independents and only 6 % of Republicans – support the goals of the demonstrators.

According to the poll, Americans are also divided into whether the protests are often peaceful (35 %) or often violent (37 %).
