Filipino politicians share deepfake videos in a battle over impeachment: ‘Even if it’s AI…I agree with the point’

Deepfakes shake the policy, where both politicians and their supporters resort to videos created from artificial intelligence to present arguments, attack their opponents, and worse, exchanging wrong information. Strong video generation tools and can now change the standards about whether, and how, use this fake content.
The allies of the Philippine President Sarah Deuttri shared a viral video of the characters created in artificial intelligence last week in an attempt to defend the besieged politician from an inappropriate trial. The video included two school students who were created from artificial intelligence criticizing the dismissal trial as “political motives” and an example of “selective” justice.
The video was soon shown as “Deepfake”, and Claire Castro, the presidential press official in the palace, hit the politicians to exchange misleading information and fake news.
The vice president took a different hunt, and told reporters that she believed that sharing a video created from artificial intelligence was good, as long as no profit was made. senator Ronald Dela Rosa, who participated in the video, also defended his actions: “Even if he was Amnesty International … I agree with this point,” according to Agence France -Presse.
Another viral video clip starred in an artificial intelligence woman, who took a supportive attitude.
This political decline is the latest development in the epic of Sarah Duratti’s overthrow. The daughter of former Philippine President Rodrigo Deuttri was accused of corruption, misuse of public funds, threatening to assassinate the former ally and Current President Ferdinand Marcus Junior if he is officially isolated, Duttiti will be removed from his post and prevented from life for life.
On June 10, the Philippine Senate referred the DUTERTE dismissal case to the country’s parliament within hours of a trial, and requested an explanation about its constitutionality. I voted the bottom of the authority to establish a Dotty in early February.
On Friday, the Public Prosecutors in the House of Representatives demanded the trial.
This is not the first time that Deepfakes appeared in the Philippine policy. Last year, a video created by AI for President Marcus, who deals with illegal drugs, became viral. The National Anti -Crime Police Group is currently investigating Deepfake from Marcus to promote online trading platform.
Political campaigns clearly adopt the content of artificial intelligence. Trump’s campaign shared pictures of the candidate who rides a lion and was supported by Taylor Swift before the presidential elections last year; Trump administration officials continue to share the cartoons created by artificial intelligence on social media to provide political points.
Videos created widely in elections throughout Asia, including in Pakistan, India, South Korea and Singapore. Last year, the Indonesian Political Party established Jacquar a group of former President Soharto suffering from his candidate. (Soharto died in 2008).
However, the videos created from artificial intelligence about the accountability of Duterte do not imitate the character of real people, but instead create the gods to express political opinions.
Viral videos were defended last week their use of Amnesty International on these foundations. Bernard Sinosib, who created a video that supports the dismissal trial, told AFP that these gods allowed people to express their opinions while avoiding criticism. The person behind a student’s video, who defended Ducherte, claimed to the News Agency that joint opinions were collected from real students.
