President Donald Trump defended his use of the term “shylock” in a rally this week, saying he was unaware that he considered some people to be anti -Semitism.
Trump used the term in his speech in Iowa on Thursday, shortly after his signing, a beautiful, beautiful draft law law was passed by congress earlier in the day.
SHYLOCK is the name of the evil Jewish donor in “The Merchant of Venice”, who calls for a pound of the body from the debtor.

Over time, the name was used on a broader scale to refer to a loan shark or greed money. Today, it can be considered a hostile refuge, especially when using it in reference to the Jewish people.
Trump said: “There is no tax tax, nor a real estate tax, and do not go to banks and some, in some cases, are a good banker and in some cases, Shilox and bad people,” while Trump refers to the elimination of the bill for real estate taxes and borrowing burdens.
The term did not raise any reaction from the crowd, but its observation soon exploded online, and later defended its use when a correspondent said it was considered a widespread anti -phrase.
Trump replied, “No, I haven’t heard it this way.” “For me, Shylock is a person of high rates of money. I have never heard it this way. You look at it differently from me.
The Anti -Defamation Association (ADL), which is working to combat anti -Semitism, said the term has been “a anti -Semitic cup for centuries around the Jews and greed that suffers from a very dangerous attack.”

“President Trump’s use of this term is very worrying and irresponsible,” ADL wrote in a statement on Friday. “It confirms how lies and conspiracies about the Jews remain deeply rooted in our country. Words of our leaders and expect more from the President of the United States.”
Representative Jerry Nadler, Dai, a Jew, agreed with a Tram surveyed and caused to use the term.
“SHYLOCK” is one of the most anti -Semitic insults in the English language, “Nader’s books on X.
Nadler went on to say that Trump took advantage of the rise of anti -Semitism to suppress freedom of expression and that he was not serious about addressing the problem.
Conservative political commentator John Podorits, a Jew, also launched Nadler.
“I condemn your support for a nomadic nominal candidate for Samia, which you did because you are a Boulalian coward,” wrote Boduritz, referring to Nader, which Nadran Mamdani made to New York City. “At best, Trump said that in the same week, Shilok destroyed the Iranian nuclear program. What did you do before for Jews, Jerry?”
