Trump: Musk’s America Party ‘ridiculous,’ third parties have ‘never worked’

President Donald Trump I criticized his former friend Elon Musk for the start of a third political party, saying that such parties “never succeeded” with the summons of this “ridiculous” move.

Trump spoke with correspondents before climbing to the Air Force 1 in Pepsster, New Jersey, when he was asked about Musk’s transfer to the start of a third party.

“I think it is absurd to start a third party,” Trump said from the airport runway. “We have tremendous success with the Republican Party. Democrats have lost their way, but it was always a two -party system, and I think the start of a third party adds to confusion.

“It seems that it has been developed for two,” the president continued. “Third parties have never succeeded. So, he could enjoy it, but I think it is ridiculous.”

Musk announced the launch of a new political party called “America Party” on the social media platform X on Saturday.

The businessman described the party’s formation in a direct response to a corrupt political institution that no longer represents the American people.

This announcement came after a July 4 virus survey in X, where he asked Musk if the voters wanted independence from what he called “the two parties system (some may say.”

More than 1.2 million votes were made, 65.4 % said “Yes”.

The new party, according to Musk sites, will target some of the main seats in Congress. The goal is to create a strong swing bloc enough to hold the balance of power and prevent what Musk sees the worst transgressions of both Republicans and Democrats.

Third parties usually faced a difficult time in obtaining a ground in American policy, as the system was built for two dominant parties. With the electoral college, the winning elections, and strict access laws to reach voting, foreigners cannot compete useful. Even when a third party candidate starts, it rarely continues after one electoral cycle.

One of the largest efforts of the third party in modern history was Ross Beirut in 1992.
He got nearly 19 % of popular votes as an independent voice, but he did not win a single college vote. This was the closest to a third -party candidate to the White House after he participated in the famous party of President Teddy Roosevelt in 1912 against William Howard Tatat.

Others, like Ralph Nader, tried with the Green Party, and Gary Johnson with the liberation party, but no third -party candidate approached to win the presidency.
