FBI says scammers are targeting US executives with fake BianLian ransom notes

The FBI warns that the fraudsters impersonate the personality of the graphic gang using fake ransom notes sent to the executives of American companies.
Fake notes, which have been reported by Guidepoint Security in the United States for the first time, claim that infiltrators have been able to access the Foundation’s network to steal sensitive data, and threaten to publish stolen data unless the demand for the ransom is paid.
The fraudsters demand between $ 250,000 and $ 500,000, according to the FBI, which says the message includes the quick response code associated with the Bitcoin Wallet. The notes contain the address of a return to the offices building in Boston, Massachusetts, and claims to be a graphic gang.
The Pianism gang, associated with Russia, was the subject of CISA alert in November last year, which warned that the group targeted many US infrastructure sectors since June 2022.
The number of individuals who have been targeted by this fraud is not known, and the FBI has not named any known victims. Arctic Wolf reports to the Cyber Security Company that the messages were first sent to the executives in the American health care sector.
The FBI says he has not specified any communications between individuals who send ransom notes and bayyoli.
