Red Sox fans urged to skip buying drinks at Fenway Park as worker strike looms

There can soon be a noticeable number of Boston Red Sox fans wandering around Venawi Park with empty hands.

Fans are encouraged to buy favorite drinks or the food item outside the doors of the historical stadium, where concession workers threaten the strike.

Red Sox was idle on Thursday after the conclusion of a wild trip. The team returns to the home for a match against Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. Last month, Aramark staff and UNITE HERE LOCAL 26 were in favor of the employment strike, the Boston Herad said.

“Aramark and Al -Ittihad did not make significant progress towards an agreement during the last negotiation session, which signed last week,” the union said.

“As a result … Vinway workers are ready to strike for the first time in the history of the 113 -year -old American stadium.”

The most recent workers’ contract has expired nearly seven months.

Employees argue that they are “fighting” for multiple “major demands” in a possible new deal. In addition to the highest wages, workers want to see “handrails on automation” and implement a scheduling system “respects the seniority of workers”.

According to Local 26, the Searfone in Fenway Park gets $ 18.52 per hour during their seizures, while workers are paid at Miami Marlins Laandepot Park in Miami who hold the same job at $ 21.25 per hour.
