US-China officials meet in Sweden as August tariff deadline looms

According to The South China Mooring Post, both sides are expected to extend on the deadline on August 12 for another 90 days to allow more time for negotiations. The Treasury refused to comment, but last week, Besent hinted that the renewal of “90 -day increases” was under study.

“Both sides have canceled the escalation, and I think we can enter a very good rhythm from normal meetings with them,” Pesin said in an interview on Bloomberg TV.
On Sunday, Trump suggested that it be a breakthrough.
“We have concluded a deal with Japan, as you know, and we are very close to a deal with China,” he said.
