Fernando Alonso: Aston Martin driver’s participation in doubt for Hungarian Grand Prix due to back injury | F1 News

Fernando Alonso’s participation in the Grand Hungarian Prize race is suspicious of a back injury, which will force him to miss the first practice on Friday.

Alonso will be replaced by Aston Martin Reserve driver in the opening session at 12:30 pm on the air on Sky SPORTS F1 before the team made a decision on whether to participate in the second practice later on Friday at 4 pm.

The 44 -year -old, the oldest driver on the network, had spent a disappointing weekend in Belgium, where he qualified for the nineteenth and finished seventeenth.

“In the days after the Belgian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso was running a muscle injury in his back,” said Aston Martin’s statement.

“As the treatment continues this morning, choose to sit outside the FP1. Felipe Drugov will lead in FP1 alongside Lance Stroll.

“A decision will be taken over FP2’s participation in FP2 and the rest of the weekend in a timely manner.”

In March, Alonso revealed that he was racing with a neck injury due to the “Muqnat nerve” after the Australian Grand Prix.

His teammate Aston Martin Lance Stroll was absent in the Spanish Grand Prix because of the pain in his hand and wrist that requires surgery.

Alonso History of injuries in F1

Alonso maintained an elbow, knee and thigh after a huge shift in the rain in the Brazilian Grand Prix 2003.

The Spaniard suffered from temporary memory loss after its crash in the pre -season test in 2015 for McLaren, forcing him to miss the first race of this season. McLaren said that Alonso’s doctors discovered “there is absolutely no evidence for any injury” at that time.

A year later, Alonso was destroyed by a massive plane in the Australian Grand Prix when the Haas Esteban Guterres driver struck, as he was turning into gravel. He broke his ribs and missed the next race in Bahrain.

In 2021, Alonso participated in a road accident while riding a bicycle in Switzerland during the winter, but he was fit enough to return to this season.
