The Portable Power Station You Want for Your Off-Grid Adventures

For a few years in the twenties and thirties of my life, I contracted to play music in the corners of the streets of the two -marathians in Austin, Texas. When the location that was appointed did not have an available outlet, I had to rent a gas generator (on the organized dim) – a loud bastard of a loud bastard of a machine that was a material struggle to start. How I liked to get something like the DJI Power 2000 portable power plant at the time.
Power 2000 is the third and strongest series of Ferrophosphate lithium (LFP) batteries that you can run with a touch of the button and use it to recharge DJI drones and more. In most roads, it is an upgrade version of Power 1000, only with more USB ports and hesitating currents, along with the capacity of the top 2048 hours against its predecessor of 1024 hours (which means that it is slightly heavier at 49 pounds as well). Power 2000 can take out at 3000 watts continuously, which is an improvement of 800 watts on Power 1000.

Flowed with ports and a lot of energy, Power’s Power 2000 is a great backup battery, even if you are not excited by drones.
Positives
-
Many ports and shipping options
-
Continuous high power
-
Quiet fans
-
Useful application
-
Multi -use expansion options
cons
-
The price is for similar competitors
-
A lot of transformers required for SDC ports
-
Error codes are not always useful
This is more than enough to drive amplifier and a small PA system for two hours you need, with the least problem. Not having to fight a strong gas engine, then compete with uncomfortable drones and inhaled its fumes while the flowing contestants were flowing after me.
The power is up, low energy
Power 2000, partly, was made to keep DJI drone in the air. Thanks to the Royal DC (SDC) outlets, it can charge some flying cameras in DJI, but not all. I did not have such drones for the test, but Verge that found last year that the SDC Power 1000 port can get a DJI AIR 3 battery until full capacity in less than an hour. I assume a little better performance here, as Power 2000 ports improve in its predecessor, as it offers the same effort but the output at 12 amps instead of 10. In Verge, you will need to buy a drone SDC cable that you charge.
These ports are not only to operate drones. You can use it, either individually or side by side, to charge Power 2000 itself, although DJI does not include any of the transformers needed for that. If you want to charge it from your 12 -volt dc (or cigarette lighter, if you are big like me), you will need a $ 49 cable. To operate it via solar panels, you need a $ 59 DJI MPPT transformer unit, which can accommodate up to three solar panels; This is something you want if you hope to recharge the battery at more than one snail pace.

The network strength is the fastest way to charge Power 2000 – DJI says it can move from 0 to 80 % in 55 minutes and about 90 minutes. When the power plant reached 36 %, it took only about 35 minutes to fill the wall plug in my office. During that time, the battery interior fan was turned on, which is so calm enough that I couldn’t notice it if I was not at home alone. After exhausting it, it took 90 minutes to get 82 percent, another 30 minutes or so to give up, so a little longer than the DJI estimate.
It is possible to explain the slowdown time that is presented through the obstacle that struck it during that session: While checking the DJI Home app when it ended, there was a notice of “AC inputs via frequency” at the top of the page. Clicking on the notification took me to the DJI support site, where a message said that the page was not present. Some Googling took me to the DJI menu from mistakes and solutions, but I recommend – to try another outlet – did not help. The company asked about the error, and a Dji Donovan Davis product specialist in an email message suggested that I carry the AC button for 10 seconds to change its frequency. In the United States, 60 Hz is the standard electrical frequency, but I certainly seemed to have made Power 2000 in a 50 Hz mode, which is indicated by “AC50Hz” on the display. The bottom constipation was an easy solution, but DJI support documents certainly did not help me get there. Re -charging it completely after this change took about 90 minutes.

As for the DJI Home app, it is a nice addition to the package. However, you can contact Power 2000 via Bluetooth to display the current insertion and output of each outlet, as well as an estimate of the time when it is being shipped or exhausted, depending on the whereabout you are looking. You can also look at previous notifications such as mistakes, updating the battery fixed programs, and adjusting some general settings. The app supports many devices, and of course, it has a link to the DJI store so you can buy more things.
So let’s talk about what I put in 2000. The first test was to amplify the air ranking and empty it with a 60 -watt swimmer. It did not make this even the battery ratio, which remained 100 % after that. Next, I connected to the Fender Blues Deville, a large ampright of four speakers that fired between 90 and 140 watts for 20 minutes played at the highest level you were ready to bear. This battery decreased to 95 % – guidance if you wanted to play for 6 consecutive hours, but I haven’t exerted the battery, yet.
The real test guarantees its operation as soon as possible to 3000 watts continuously, to see if DJI claims that he can do so. I tried a hair dryer and spacecraft first, which have proven to be too much, and pushed it to 3,300 watts. It lasted only 20 seconds before the closure, but it is likely that this has exceeded the maximum output of 25 amp for the device, as Davis Lee confirmed in his e -mail that Power 2000 has the same peak output 4400 watts as 1000 energy, although it is not included in the DJI specifications.
All the ports you can want

Companies like this love a ridiculous scheme to boast of what you can get out of. Below are some examples of the number of fees or operating hours that Power 2000 is good, from DJI journalistic materials with Gizmodo:
- Mobile phone: 114 charges
- Wi-Fi router: 152 hours
- Mobile computer: 18 charges
- Car refrigerator: 38 hours
- Rice cook: 2.4 hours
- With the electric saw: 56 minutes
Take these numbers as mysterious estimates are, but the point will get a lot of them more than medium energy bank in the pocket. Power 2000 runs that through four USB-C ports (two 140 watts, two of 65 watts) and four USB-A 24 watts. Davis said these numbers for each outlet, instead of combining you as if you were finding in many USB wall chargers. You will also find four outdated outputs, three of which are three -level foundations from the United States and one with one orient, just as you connect an electric clothing dryer (although they are classified for 125 volts, not 220 volts that this port offers in your home). Between USB-C and AC outputs, you will find a digital screen that shows you the current battery percentage, output or electrical power of the entry, for how long until it is charged or unloaded, and other useful information.

It is clear that all this is very useful if you are on a camping journey and do not want to track different energy banks or divide time with others using two ports that you may find in the camp site. Power 2000 can also work as an uninterrupted energy source, or UPS – mainly a backup of the battery in case of power outages – if you connect it to the wall and then connect a computer or something in one of its AC ports. It is transmitted to UPS mode automatically in this event, and passes the energy to your device until it discovers energy loss in the wall, while DJI says it will turn into providing its own capacity within 0.01 seconds.
DJI Power 2000 can work as a backup of the home battery. Therefore, you can connect up to 10 of the $ 899 expansion packages, for a total of 22,528 hours of capacity, the company says.
How is this mobile thing? Well, Power 2000 is definitely not light at 49 pounds. However, this is less than half of 111 lbs of the first 3000W gas generator that I found on the Home Depot site, and it is in line with the weight of other similar generators such as Ecoflow Delta 2 Max. Its strong handles make it easy if you can raise weight, but go to more than a few feet will be rough without mechanical help (any cheap folding truck) or a second person. If you are ready to exceed another $ 1,000, you can buy the Combo Power 2000 DJI package that is charged with a handcrafted truck and a stretch battery.
Breaking and heavy, but portable

Power 2000 feels very good, but there are things that must be observed about their ability to stormy weather: DJI recounts the operating range between 14 and 113 degrees Fahrenheit, while translated temperature rates range from 32 degrees Fahrenheit. DJI does not make any claims to resist dust, but given the vent of the large heat on the side, this is not surprising.
Also, while DJI writes in its original press statement, which announces Power 2000 that he is designed for “the safest in rain, condensation, and salt spray conditions”, she reads a footnote to the page of its product: “To ensure the performance of the product, does not occupy the power plant [sic] Rainy environment for more than 3 minutes, in an intensifying environment for more than 30 minutes, or in the salt fog environment for more than 8 hours. Avoid exposing it to condensation or salt fog for long periods. “
On the positive side, the Chemistry of the LFP Power 2000 battery means that it is safer and longer than the Li-Ion-ion battery, which spoils the DJI product page, and the device will not explode if the batteries are punctured. DJI also says that drops or effects will not lead to open fire. Finally, Power 2000 has built -in closing mechanisms that lead to very hot or move beyond their ability, such as when you connect a lot of space heaters.
It is great to have, if you can prepare the price

The only problem about devices like this is that it does not come cheap. The proposed retail price for DJI for Power 2000 is $ 1,899, although Davis confirmed that 1,299 dollars is a “long -term promotional offer” and that the price “can pay customers to pay” on the DJI on the web. Even at $ 1,299, DJI Power 2000 is useful, but it is close to competing devices such as Bluetti Elite 200 V2 $ or $ 1049 Ecoflow Delta 2 Max, and cheaper than $ 2,199 Jackery Explorer 2000 Plus.
However, this does not make the portable power plant easy to swallow, especially since you can get a lot of the same benefit by picking up the cheapest power 1000, at $ 699 to this writing. An additional $ 600 for Power 2000 twice the number of ports, poor capacity, and a continuous output classification, which is nothing. But the $ 15 power bar can easily replace those lost ports. In the end, if you should pick up Power 2000 up to whether you feel you need its additional ability and ability – and perhaps if you are greatly excited about DJI Drone. If this is you, the DJI 2000 power will not disappoint. This is as good as big energy banks happen, and it is definitely more beautiful than flying exhaust fumes.
