President Donald Trump closed his thirtieth week in his position in his second term with a large meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Ancorag, Alaska, in an attempt to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The two did not reach a peace agreement, but Trump said that the meeting was successful and that Ukrainian President Foludmir Zelinsky would visit the White House in Washington on Monday.
“Everything has been determined is that the best way to end the terrible war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a peace agreement, which will end the war, not just a ceasefire agreement, which does not stand up often,” Trump said on Saturday’s position on the truth.

If the meeting in Washington goes well, Trump said a triple meeting between the United States, Russia and Ukraine will be scheduled.
Trump described the meeting with Putin as “very warm”, and said he believed the deal was imminent.
Trump told hosts of Fox News Sean Hanity in a file Exclusive interview. “As you know, he is a strong man, it is difficult like all of this, but the meeting was a very warm meeting between the two very important countries, and it is very good when they go. I think we are about to agree on the deal. Now look, Ukraine must agree on it.”
Here’s what happened this week:
Crime campaign
On Monday, Trump announced that he would activate about 800 National Guard soldiers and will take over the Capital Police Department to treat crime in Washington. The move came after Trump has already strengthened the existence of federal law in the country’s capital on Saturday.
“I deploy the National Guard to help re -establish the law, order and public safety in Washington, DC,” Trump told reporters at a press conference on Monday. “They will be allowed to do their job correctly.”

Trump initially suggested that the Capital Police Department be placed in Washington and sent the National Guard forces to treat crime in Washington on August 6 in response to an attack on a former employee of the Ministry of Government (DOGE).
Although the temporary federal acquisition of the Metropolitan Police Department has been guaranteed to emergency cases, Washington officials filed a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration’s move on Friday.
“By illegally declaring MPD, the administration offends its temporary and limited authority under the law,” wrote to the Washington Prosecutor Brian Shawalb on Friday. “This is the most threats faced by the ruling at home, and we are fighting to stop it.”
Smithsonian review
The White House sent a message to Smithsonian on Tuesday, announcing that it will conduct a review of its museums and exhibitions leading to the US birthday 250 in 2025.
“We want to treat museums in our country,” Trump told reporters on Thursday. “We want their museums to talk about the history of our country in a fair way, not in a wake up or racist way, which is what many of them do, not all of them, but many of them do it.”
“Our museums are obligated to represent what happened in our country over the years. Good and bad,” Trump said. “But what happened over the years in an accurate way.”

The White House said in a message on Tuesday that the review will include the examination of social media, the text of the exhibition and the educational materials “to assess the tone, historical framework and align with the American proverb.”
The letter said: “This initiative aims to ensure compatibility with the president to celebrate the American exception, remove division or partisan accounts, and restore confidence in our joint cultural institutions.”

“The work of Smithsonian is based on a deep commitment to scientific excellence, strict research, careful and realistic presentation of history,” Smithsonian said in a statement.
