US Tech Giants Race to Spend Billions in UK AI Push

Microsoft and Nvidia Plans for investing up to $ 45 billion in the British economy, in a move that would enhance the construction of more data centers as well as research and development in artificial intelligence.

Openai will provide up to 8,000 graphics processing units in the first quarter of 2026 with the possibility of expanding 31,000 graphics processing units over time. As part of the agreement, Openai says that NSCAE is scheduled to expand its capacity through a number of sites in the United Kingdom, including Cobalt Park in Newcastle, which will be part of the newly designated Amnesty International growth area in the northeast.
