The Democratic Governor’s candidate in New Jersey, Mickey Sherrill, rejected the support of her party’s candidate for the post of mayor in neighboring New York City.

“I do not participate in this race because I am completely focused on New Jersey. I will allow the people of New York to decide this race,” Sherrill said in a candidate candidate forum.

Sherrill’s answer comes at a time when some Democrats continue to look at Zahran Mamdani as a political toxic, given President Donald Trump and the Republicans to consolidate the 33 -year -old socialist candidate for the weak Democratic Democrats for election this year or in the middle of next year.

During Friday Forum, hosted by Pix11 News, Sherrill said that New Jersey’s voters did not ask her about the Mayor of New York City, which attracted a lot of national attention after defeating Mamdani as a former ruler Andrew Como and nine other primary democrats in June to win the town of their party.

“People in New Jersey are constantly talking to me about the ability to bear costs,” she said.

“They are talking to me about their cost, about electricity, about housing prices, etc., about health care. They are concerned about the freezing of the gate tunnel boxes,” Sherrill stressed.

In the midst of the government closure, the Trump administration announced this week that it had stopped federal funding for the huge gate tunnel project to build a new railway tunnel between New Jersey and New York City.

Sherrill was asked for the second time during the forum about the New York City race, “Once again, I focus on the New Jersey race, and this is a race in New York. I am not a registrar to vote there. So I’m focusing here.”

The closure of the federal government precedes the blame in the decisive race of the ruler

While Sherrill’s comments were repeated in Friday’s forum previous statements about Mamdani, her republican rival in the Battle of the 2025 ballot fund to achieve success in the ruler of Democrat, who occupies the duration of Phil Murphy, accusing her of trying to obtain it in both directions.

This summer, the nominee of the New Jersey State Governor in New Jacques Seatarili in public media publications highlighted previous comments from Sherrill, including one of them saying that she did not weigh in the New York City race, as well as saying, “If he is the democratic candidate, which appears to be supposed to do so.”

Mamdani, the Ugandan birth, if elected, will become the first Muslim mayor and the first millennium in the country’s most populated city. He is a clear candidate in the latest public opinion polls in the municipal race in the city dominated by Democrats.

Mamdani sits on two numbers leading to Cuomo, who runs as an independent in the general elections, and Republican candidate Cristis Sliwa, in the latest public opinion polls in New York City.

While the National Democratic Committee and some senior Democrats support Mamdani, others have kept their distance and have not yet supported.

New York Governor Cathy Hochol recently supported Mamdani, but the leader of the Senate Chuck Shomer and the leader of the minority in the House of Representatives, Hakim Jeffrez, the best two Democrats in congress and his colleagues in New York, refused to support him.

Mamdani went up to the Democratic Elementary Victory thanks to an active campaign that focuses heavily on the ability to withstand costs and the high cost of living in New York City. It was nourished by an army at the level of the popular base of supporters and support from senior national progressive heroes, including MP Alexandria Okasio Cortez, DN.Y, and Senator Bernie Sanders, I-VT.

Mamdani used smart media platforms, including Tiktok, where he shared voters in the low density. He suggested getting rid of prices to ride the vast bus system in New York City, making Cuny (New York City University) “free of tuition fees”, freezing rents on municipal housing, providing “free children’s care” for children up to 5 years old and the construction of government -run groceries.

Mamdani was subjected to severe criticism by his competitors for his distant platform, as well as his verbal attacks on Israel, his previous monetary comments on the New York City Police Department (NYPD), and his suggestion to change some responsibilities away from the New York police and focus on social services and community programs.
