Steve Clarke on Scotland future: 75 per cent chance I will leave after 2026 World Cup in USA, Mexico and Canada | Football News

Scotland coach Steve Clark says that there is a 75 percent opportunity that he will leave his role after the 2026 World Cup.
Former West BROM, Reading and Kilmarnock manager has already led Scotland to a successive European championship, and his next goal will retain his first-class position of the Nations League-with a match from its legs against Greece this month.
His attention will then turn into a qualified insurance for the first men’s World Cup since 1998 – with Greece, Belarus, Portugal or Denmark on the road to Scotland.
Clark – who took the position of Alex Maclach in 2019 – outside the contract after the championship in the United States, Canada and Mexico next year, and the 61 -year -old admits that he may not renew this deal.
He said, “I will go to a percentage – 75 percent.” When asked about the possibility of leaving after the World Cup. “This is something I did not talk about to my superiors.
“But at this moment, I am pleased to run my contract. I want to go to America. This is the minimum. I want to help this group of players to reach the World Cup in America.”
Despite their success in the euro, Scotland missed the World Cup in Qatar 2022 after Mubari’s loss to Ukraine – and Clark admits that the next 12 months will decide its future.
He added: “I still have 10 big games this year to determine my future to go forward.
“I decided to want to run the contract. Obviously, if we have a wonderful year and reach the World Cup and do a good job in the World Cup, one of them may convince me to stay.
“Whether it remains here or whether I am going to another place, the next year can determine my future. I think it is very early to talk about me or stay.”
When asked if he still had ambitions to return to the club’s management, the former defender of St. Mirren and Chelsea said: “I am always open to other suggestions.
“I enjoyed being the main coach in Scotland. I am determined to enjoy this year being the main coach in Scotland. We will see where he takes us.”
