Nearly 100 million US jobs could be displaced by AI within decade

A new Senate report warns that artificial intelligence can replace nearly 100 million American jobs during the next decade, prompting Democrats to pay a “robot tax” on companies that replace human workers with technology.

The analysis produced by Democratic employees of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (Aid) was driven by senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Partially informed of ChatGPT responses, 20 main sectors have been examined for the workforce. It was found that 15 could see more than half of their positions that were replaced by artificial intelligence systems or robots.

The report says that the most difficult of them is fast food and anti -workers, as it lost an estimated 3 million jobs, or about 89 % of these workforce.

Other high -risk fields include customer service, charging, engines and executives, with expected automation rates exceeding 80 %.

The report also urges the legislators to face what Sanders called an “economic crossroads”.

The Senate report also shows the agenda of the Labor Party, including a 32 -hour work week, a minimum minimum for federal wages, at a value of $ 17, a stronger additional work, and the risks of workers’ shares in automatic industries.

The authors emphasize that the impact of artificial intelligence is “pre -defined” but depends on the policy options that have been now taken.
