Mase Recalls Reaction To His Ex-Partner Asking Him For Marriage

However, social media wasted no time in surfacing reactions, reigniting the new school debate over “who should propose” in a relationship!

Mase claims he challenged his former GF to propose to him first

The “Harlem World” rapper recalled this special experience during a live event for his podcast “It Is What It Is.” The show is a daily and popular segment hosted by Ma$e, Cam’ron, and Treasure ‘Stat Baby’ Wilson. During the live edition at ComplexCon, which was held on the 25th and 26th of this month, Mays answered the question “What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever asked a potential partner?” After repeating the question, he answered:

“When I first thought about getting married, I asked her to buy the ring if she was serious.”

He doubled down on his recollection as the audience responded audibly to his revelation. In the clip shared by The Shade Room (see below), someone can be heard saying: “Oh that’s wild” Meanwhile, on stage, Massey was unfazed, adding: “We are different.“As the audience chanted louder, he just sat there wincing!” See the short clip that went viral below.

Is the rapper talking about his ex-wife?

As previously reported, May did not name the woman he challenged to put a ring on his finger. However, attention soon turned to his first and only ex-wife, Twyla Betha. They were married between 2001 and 2014, before he filed for divorce in April of that last year. By that point, they had been separated for about two years, according to TMZ.

They settled down in June 2014, according to the outlet. She walked away from physical custody of her children, while he got “reasonable visitation.” At the time, that meant up to three hours a day with 12 hours advance notice. Additionally, he was ordered to pay $6,000 a month in spousal and child support payments. As for Betha, she was ordered to hand over all of Mase’s music equipment.
