Jamar Champ was killed in a car accident in Houston
On the morning of Tuesday, October 28, Masika Kalisha took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a devastating message with her followers:
“God woke me up at two in the morning… I couldn’t sleep. I didn’t know why. Jesus Christ, I just received the worst news of my life. Please pray for me and my children.” I wrote.
Hours earlier, KHOU reported that a BMW “travelling in the wrong direction collided head-on with a Tesla Cybertruck” on the Katy Expressway. Furthermore, the BMW was reportedly traveling west in the eastbound lanes of the freeway when it collided with a Tesla Cybertruck and caught fire. The collision then “sent the Cybertruck into a nearby semi.” According to KVRR, the collision occurred shortly after midnight.
KHOU adds that Jamar Champ, identified as the Cybertruck’s driver, and the driver of the BMW died at the scene. Additionally, the outlet reported that wrong-way drivers are a “frequent problem in the area.” Furthermore, investigators are also seeking to determine whether the BMW driver’s impairment played a role in the fatal crash.

On Tuesday afternoon, Kalysha took to Instagram, urging the media to refrain from sharing details of her estranged husband’s death. Specifically, Kalisha noted that her two daughters, one of whom she shares with Champ, were in school, and she wanted to tell them the devastating news and keep them from finding out about it from their friends and their friends’ parents.

According to People, Masika Kalisha and Jamar Champ married in 2021 and have a now 3-year-old daughter named Amari. It should be noted that Kalisha has an older daughter named Khari with rapper Fetty Wap.
In 2023, Kalisha took to a live broadcast to comment on her breakup with Champ. Then, in 2024, she talked about her and Champ mediating amid their apparent divorce.
