Liverpool are not looking to sign Antoine Semenyo in January
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyu.
The Reds had a huge summer transfer window, with Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitiki and Alexander Isak arriving at the club.
New recruits take time to settle into the club and show their true colours, which is why speculation has increased in the media about which players Arne Slott’s side could sign in the January transfer window.
Semenyu is a player on the radar of the reigning Premier League champions.
The winger has excelled this season after scoring six goals in 11 matches for Andoni Iraola’s team.
Antoine Simenho is not expected to join Liverpool in January
But that might not be enough for him to move to Liverpool according to the latest update provided by transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.
Romano said on the Give Me Sport market Madness podcast:
“I don’t think it will be a mid-season departure, and I don’t think it will be with Liverpool.
“I think Liverpool will be very quiet in the January window. In the summer it could be different. I still want to respect Bournemouth, and let them enjoy the player. It’s still November and they’re not planning for him to leave in January.”
“There is a lot of interest in the player and there is a release clause, so it is a very interesting situation but I think it relates to the summer window. As for January, it is very unlikely.”
The interest in Semenyu is understandable given his level and potential.
With Liverpool having one eye on finding a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, Semenyu has emerged as the player who fits the player profile they are looking for.
Semenyu will be a sought-after player next year

He is a versatile striker and goalscorer, similar to the way Salah plays at Liverpool.
The Bournemouth winger may have to wait until next year’s summer transfer window for a move to one of the top clubs in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old is said to be keen on a move to Anfield and is someone who would complement their attack.
However, Manchester United are closely monitoring the striker and could be involved in a transfer battle with their Premier League rivals to sign Semenyu.
