Redfin launches new AI tool to transform the homebuying experience

A new AI tool is transforming… Home buying experience For Americans everywhere.

Redfin has teamed up with Sierra AI to launch a new AI-powered conversational search tool designed to engage with home buyers the way a real estate agent would. This technology gets rid of one-dimensional search filters and instead allows users to describe what they want in their own words to find the perfect homes.

“We’re the first to offer conversational search and the reason is because Sierra, our engineers who are collaborating with Sierra, can see the conversations people are having about searching for properties and then optimize them,” Redfin CEO Glenn Kellman told FOX Business’ Liz Claman on “The Claman Countdown.”

“We couldn’t have done it without you,” [Sierra CEO and co-founder] Brett [Taylor]”.

Taylor, who is also chairman of OpenAI, explained that the tool is about being “consumer-centric.”

“There was never a checkbox that said, ‘I want a cottage-like feel,'” Taylor said. I want good natural light in my house,” and now you can just have a conversation. “I hope it helps people find the home of their dreams.”

Kellman said reservations on the application could “change the course of history” for homebuyers. He added that while people had previously given up on buying after seeing too many pictures of homes they couldn’t afford, this tool could help them get closer to what they’re looking for.

“We can say to people: What about this neighborhood you haven’t thought of? What about this listing? It’s exactly what a human real estate agent would do, except they’re available 24/7, and they have instant access to 2 million properties,” Kelman noted.

Real estate Agents may also be excited about the new tool because many people who start home searches don’t end up finishing them.

“AI has helped us walk people through the whole experience much better, so when they walk into a neighborhood they can’t afford, we suggest a different neighborhood, so that when they find a home they like, but it has the wrong kitchen, we can extract other characteristics and then find a home with the right kitchen,” the Redfin CEO said, explaining that agents are needed.

The tool is expected to be of great help to homebuyers.

“It’s much more powerful than what we could offer before because we can help families break through and find a place they thought they wouldn’t be able to afford,” Kelman said.
