Toyota creates Jordan Love trading cards for Toyotathon promotion

As the holiday season approaches, every major company and brand in the country will be organizing activities and campaigns.

For Toyota, its annual Toyotathon sales event is all about cutting prices, but it also has an NFL buzz. At least Green Bay Packers fans made it happen when they noticed something specific and strange about their star quarterback.

Since 2023, Jordan’s love has blossomed during the Toyota Marathon. This year, Toyota took notice of this “car bomb” and turned it into a fun promotion for Packers fans.

Toyota, in collaboration with trading card company Panini America, produced a rare trading card highlighting Love’s statistics over the past three seasons during the Toyotathon event. It basically turned into a “Loveathon”.

Each trading card includes a piece of Love’s Toyotathon holiday jacket that he wore to upgrade, a nod to other rare trading cards featuring jerseys used in the game.

Now, the biggest question of all: How does one get a special love card?

“Our dealers are the long-time guardians of the magic of Toyotathon,” Toyota said. “They know how to identify the chosen few. The cards will find their way — by fate, not by application.”

“Maybe it’s buying a car or wearing a Jordan Love T-shirt while taking a test drive, but our agents will find a way to recognize those who are destined to carry the magic with them.”

Since there are only 250 cards available, Toyota says, “Jordan requested that these cards go only to true fans — and to storytellers who believe in the power woven into that sweater.”

So, what exactly has Love done during Toyotathon over the years? The back of the trading card shows that Love has thrown 28 touchdowns with just two interceptions over 16 career games while pitching around the country. He has a 68.3% completion rate, 3,719 passing yards, and a passer rating of 110.7.

The Toyotathon is also running at a time when NFL stakes are at their highest. Each team is gunning for a spot in the playoffs. The Packers are no different.

Love and the Packers defeated the New York Giants on the road on Sunday, 27-20, snapping a two-game losing streak and moving back into the NFC playoff spot. If the season ended today, they would own the No. 6 seed with a 6-3-1 record.

There are still seven games left to play, and Packers fans are hoping the Toyotathon magic continues for the fifth-year quarterback.
