Pakistan Shaheen really played like Shaheen – Mohsin Naqvi

Mohsin Naqvi said in a statement that the team showed the skill and unity necessary to lift the title. Naqvi also congratulated the entire team and coaching staff and described the win as an important moment for the future of Pakistan cricket.

“Pakistan Shaheen really played like Team Shaheen and became champions for the third time. They showed excellent teamwork by defeating Bangladesh in the final. Their performance throughout the tournament was impressive,” Naqvi said.

He said: “I wholeheartedly congratulate all the players and the coaching staff. Today’s victory heralds a bright and glorious future for Pakistani cricket.”

Ahmed Daniel is the best player in the match

Bangladesh batted first in the Super Over. Ahmed Daniel kept Abdel Ghaffar Saqlain away with the first ball. Despite a wide stretch to the boundary, Daniel kept things tight and restricted Bangladesh to just six runs.

Pakistan needed seven to win the title. They started the chase with one foot, followed by one, before Saad Masoud dug the boundary. He then moved the next ball on the inside to complete the winning run and secure the Rising Stars Cup.

Earlier in the match, Pakistan scored a total of 126 runs. However, they responded quickly after Bangladesh’s opener gave their side a flying start. Arafat Minhas, Saad Masood, Sufyan Muqim and Moaz Sadaqat dragged Bangladesh from 36-1 to 53-7.

Rakbul Hasan and SM Mahiroob briefly revived hopes, but Daniel’s double strike ended the partnership and left Bangladesh nine runs behind. Saklin and Rippon Mondol reduced the equation to two off the last ball, but could only manage one, bringing the super to an end.
