The new T20 jersey of the India National cricket team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 was officially unveiled on Wednesday, December 3.

The oversized jersey was unveiled during the mid-innings break in the second ODI match between the India national cricket team and the South Africa national cricket team at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.

Although openers Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal were unable to fire, centuries by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Virat Kohli shifted the momentum towards the hosts before KL Rahul finished things off strongly, taking India to 358/5.

After the end of the first innings, a small ceremony was organized at the venue, where Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devajit Saikia was also present.

The new T20I jersey of the Indian team was unveiled during the ceremony before Devajit Saikia and an adidas representative handed over the new jerseys to Rohit Sharma and Tilak Varma.

Notably, Rohit Sharma, who is the only Indian player to have won two T20 World Cup titles – one as a player and the other as a captain – is the brand ambassador for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Speaking of the shirt, it features a deep blue base, designed with vertical stripes in two shades of blue – a darker navy blue and a slightly lighter royal blue. These alternating stripes run from top to bottom, giving the jersey a bold, textured look.

On either side of the torso, there are striking orange panels that add contrast, and the collar is designed with a V-neck design, bordered by three colors representing the Indian national flag.

The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to be held from February 7 to March 8, 2026, across 8 different venues in India and Sri Lanka.

The India national cricket team has been placed in Group A along with USA, Pakistan, Netherlands and Namibia. Also, the intense clash between the arch rivals, the Indian national cricket team and the Pakistan national cricket team, is scheduled to take place in Colombo on February 15.

Rohit Sharma was also asked to give a speech after the jersey unveiling, and he said that India won the T20 World Cup after a very long time in 2024 and supported the Suryakumar Yadav-led team to defend the title at home. He said:

“It’s been a long journey. We won the first World Cup in 2007 and it took us about 15 years to win the next World Cup. So I think it’s been a long journey.

“We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, but it was good to win the title. Now, I’m sure everyone will support the team, support them and do their best.”
