Elon Musk calls himself a ‘maker’ while slamming Sen. Bernie Sanders as a taker

Billionaire business mogul Elon Musk described himself as a “maker” in a Tuesday post on Channel X, while reiterating his claim that Sen. Bernie Sanders, R-Va., is on board with the idea.

“My shares in Tesla and SpaceX, which represent almost all of my wealth, rise in value solely based on how much useful product these companies produce and serve,” Musk wrote.

He continued: “This means that my wealth can only increase due to producing more products and services for the public. Furthermore, everyone else who is a Tesla and SpaceX shareholder, including employees, is participating in the upside of the stock’s rising value.”

He concluded by saying: “This is because I am a maker, not a taker like the Bernie Sanders-type politicians of the world. They take and they take, because they cannot or do not want to make.”

During his remarks at the US-Saudi Investment Forum in November, Musk suggested that work would eventually become optional due to robotics and artificial intelligence.

In an August post on X, Musk responded to someone who asked how workers replaced by robots would support their lives when they became unemployed.

“There will be a universal high income (not just a basic income). Everyone will have the best medical care, food, home, transportation, and everything else. Sustainable abundance,” Musk wrote.

A Sanders spokesperson responded to Fox News Digital’s request for comment from the senator on Tuesday by referring to a video message released earlier this month in which Sanders addressed Musk directly.

He said in the video: “Hello Elon Musk, this is Senator Bernie Sanders. I was thrilled when I heard that with the rapid progress in artificial intelligence and robotics that you are funding, you will bring utopia to the world.”

“How will this utopia be achieved?” he asked. The lawmaker said he looked forward to seeing how Musk and Musk’s other friends would provide a “great life” for workers.

“Takers like Bernie will eventually follow the creators, but they are also cowards and lack any sense of adventure, so they will wait until it is safe,” Musk asserted in a post on X this month.

“Yes, Elon,” Sanders responded. “I lack ‘any sense of adventure’ when this ‘adventure’, as you put it, forces tens of millions of workers out of their jobs. The goal of AI and robotics should be to improve life for all people, not just make you and your fellow rich people richer.”
