Actress and Traitors Star Ruth Codd Undergoes 2nd Leg Amputation at 29
Irish actress and celebrity traitors in the UK star Ruth Code She is recovering after having her remaining leg amputated.
Cudd, 29, who had her right leg amputated when she was 23, revealed the news of undergoing another surgery in a TikTok video posted on Wednesday, November 26.
“I’ve just had a second below-the-knee amputation, there’s a lot to unpack for everyone involved,” she said in a video filmed at her parents’ home in Ireland.
The actress captioned her video, “No legs, who is it? #paralympics2026.”
Cudd has previously spoken about injuring her right leg playing soccer when she was 15 years old. After her broken leg failed to heal, it was amputated below the knee several years later.
“I was injured when I was 15, and my leg wasn’t amputated until I was 23. So, those eight years were one operation after another, and sometimes they would work for a while, and then I would end up back on crutches,” she said. She added at the time: “But I wouldn’t change that. It’s made me a really resilient person. I’m grateful that I’m able to do simple things like walk around or ride a bike or ride a horse. It kind of teaches you not to take things for granted.”
Cudd said her “life kind of took a turn” after she had her right leg amputated, calling it “the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Then, when it did, I was like, ‘Oh.’ But I got through it and I’m fine, and I’m still here. The first step I remember when I took my prosthetic leg, like the first thing I said was, ‘Oh, it doesn’t hurt anymore.’ I didn’t even realize how much pain I was in the whole time. I just got used to it.”
Codd first gained fame on TikTok, where she was spotted by casting directors on Netflix Midnight Clubproduced by Haunting Hill House creator Mike Flanagan. She played Anya, a terminally ill amputee, in the 2022 series and reunited with Flanagan in 2023. The fall of the House of Usher.
