AI Perception of Time Goes Beyond Human Limits

Understanding the passage of time is essential to human consciousness. While we continue to discuss whether artificial intelligence (AI) can have awareness, there is one certain thing: Amnesty International will test time differently. Her sense of time will not be dictated by biology, but through her arithmetic, sensory and communication operations. How will we coexist with a foreign intelligence that imagines and behaves in a completely different time world?

What does the synchnery of man mean

Clap your hands while looking at them. You see, hear, and feel applause as a multimedia event – the visual, sound and touch senses appear simultaneously and determine “now”. Our consciousness plays these sensory inputs as synchronous, although they reach different times: the light reaches our eyes faster than the sound that reaches our ears, while our brain treats the sound faster than complex visual information. However, everything looks like one moment.

This illusion stems from the integrated brain mechanism. The brain is known “now” through a short time window during which multiple sensory perceptions are collected and integrated. This time is called time, usually up to a few hundred milliliters, the time window of integration (Twi). As an alternative to this time network, films containing 24 frames per second create an illusion of continuous movement.

But the human Twi has its limits. Watch the distant lightning flash and you will hear thunder after seconds. Human Twi has evolved to impose sensory information only for events within approximately 10 to 15 meters. This is our horizon of synchronization.

Foreign intelligence in the material world

Artificial intelligence is preparing to become a standard part of other robots and machines that imagine and interact with the material world. These machines will use various sensors on their bodies, but also remote sensors that send digital data from AFAR. The robot may receive data from the satellite around which 600 km over Earth and deals with data as actual time, as the transmission takes only 2 milliliters-faster than the human Twi.

Human sensors are “solid” for the body, which determines two headquarters of how the brain interacts with the material world. First, it is possible to predict the delay in spreading from each sensor to the brain. When a sound occurs in the environment, the unexpected factor is the distance between the source of the sound and our ears; The time delay is fixed from the ears to the brain. Second, each sensor is used with only one human brain. The human horizon has evolved to synchronize over millions of years under this building, and it was improved to help us assess opportunities and threats. A 15 -meter lion was worth anxious, but thunder would not be in 3 kilometers.

These two buildings will not always be valid for smart, multimedia, perception machines. The artificial intelligence system may receive data from a remote sensor with an unexpected association. One sensor can provide data for many different artificial intelligence units in actual time, such as the eye that shares multiple brains. As a result, artificial intelligence systems will develop their own perception of the place, time and its special horizon, and will change much faster than the ice pace of human development. We will soon coexist with strange intelligence that has a different perception of time and space.

AI time feature

Here where things become strange. Artificial intelligence systems are not limited to biological processing speeds and can imagine time unprecedented, and discover the cause and result that occurs very quickly for human perception.

In our excessive world, this may lead to the effects of Rashomon on a large scale, as many observers offer conflicting views on events. (The term comes from a classic Japanese movie in which many characters describe the same incident in a large way, each of which is formed through their own perspective.)

Imagine a traffic accident in 2045 at the intersection of a crowded city, witnessed by three observers: one of the human infantry, the artificial intelligence system is directly connected to street sensors, and the artificial intelligence system from a distance receives the same sensory data on a digital link. A person simply realizes a robot that enters the road before the car is broken. Local artificial intelligence records, with the arrival of the immediate sensor, the exact arrangement: the robot moves first, then the brakes, then the collision. Meanwhile, the conception of artificial intelligence is a deviant dimension due to the delay of communications, and the braking may be recorded before realizing that the robot enters the way. Each perspective offers a different series of cause and result. Any witness will be considered credibility, human or machine? What machine?

Persons with malicious intentions can use high -energy artificial intelligence systems to manufacture “events” using obstetric artificial intelligence, and they can include them in the total flow of events imagined by lower capacity machines. Humans equipped with the interfaces of reality that are particularly vulnerable to such manipulation may be, as they will take continuously in digital sensory data.

If the sequence of events is distorted, it can disrupt our feeling of causation, which may disrupt critical time systems such as response to emergency, financial trading or independent leadership. People can even use artificial intelligence systems that are able to predict the events of the boredom before they occur to confusion and confusion. If the artificial intelligence system expects an event and transfer the wrong data specifically at the right moment, it may create a false appearance. For example, AI that can expect stock market movements to publish alert news alert immediately before the expected sale.

Computers put timers, and nature does not

The engineer’s instinct may be the solution to the problem of digital stamps on sensory data. However, timetables require synchronization around the clock, which requires more power than many small devices that you can deal with.

Even if the sensory data is stimulated, delaying communications or processing may cause it too late until a smart machine works on the actual time. Imagine a robot in a factory charged with stopping the device if the worker approaches. The sensors discover the movement of the worker and a warning sign – including the chronological nature – wandering through the network. But there is above the unexpected network and the signal reaches after 200 milliliters, so the robot works too late to prevent an accident. Time stamps do not make contact delays be predicted, but they can help rebuild what happened after the truth.

Nature, of course, does not put the time stamps on events. We conclude the timeflow and causal flow by comparing the times of events arrival and integrating with the world’s brain model.

Albert Einstein’s special theory noted that the synchronization depends on the framework of the observer reference and can differ with the movement. However, it has also shown that the causal arrangement of events, the sequence in which the causes lead to effects, are still consistent with all observers. Not so for smart machines. Due to unexpected communication delays and variable processing times, smart machines may imagine events in a completely different causal arrangement.

In 1978, Leslie Lamborbit treated this problem for distributed computing, as she presented the logical hours to determine the relationship “that occurred before” between digital events. To adapt this approach to the intersection of material and digital worlds, we must deal with unexpected delays between an event in the real world and the digital timetable.

This decisive tunnel occurs from the material world to the digital world at specific access points: a digital or sensor, WiFi routers, satellites, and basic stations. Since individual devices or sensors can be hacked somewhat easily, the responsibility to maintain accurate and confident information about time and causal arrangement will increase increasingly on the large digital infrastructure contract.

This vision is in line with developments within 6G, the next wireless standard. In 6G, the basic stations will not only transfer information, but also feel their environments. These future foundation stations should become trusted gates between material worlds and digital worlds. The development of such technologies can be necessary as we enter an unpredictable future that is formed through rapidly advanced exotic intelligence.
