Allianz Life says ‘majority’ of customers’ personal data stolen in cyberattack

Allianz Life giant in the United States Insurance on Techcrunch confirmed that infiltrators stole personal information about the “majority” of its customers, financial professionals and employees during the breach of mid -July data.

When TECHRUNCH reached it, a spokesman for the Allianz Life Brett Weinberg confirmed the breach.

“On July 16, 2025, the representative of the malicious threat managed to access a third -party CRM system based on the cloud used by Allianz Life”, referring to the Customer Relations Management Database (CRM) that contains information about its customers. “The representative of the threat was able to obtain specific personal data related to the majority of Allianz Life and financial professionals and the selection of Allianz Live employees, using social engineering technology,” the spokesman said.

The company revealed that the data violated on Saturday in a lawless file with the Public Prosecutor in Maine, but it has not immediately submitted a number of Allianz Life customers. According to the official spokesperson, Allianz Life includes 1.4 million customers. Her mother company, Allianz, has more than 125 million customers worldwide.

Allianz Live said that she had informed the FBI, adding that he had “no evidence” that any other systems on its network were at risk.

The insurance giant will not say whether he has received any call from infiltrators, such as the ransom note. The company will also not attribute the violation of the piracy group.

Allianz Life is the latest company last month that was hacked during a wave of data violations targeting the broader insurance industry, including AFLAC, the main supplementary health insurance provider. Google security researchers said in June that they are “familiar with multiple motivations” through the insurance sector that is attributed to the scattered spider, a group of infiltrators and technologies that depend on social engineering techniques, such as calling and calming the deceptive comments in granting them access to the company’s network.

Before the targeting of insurance companies, the dispersed dispersed, seen a spider targeting the retail industry in the United Kingdom, as well as the aviation and transportation sectors, and are historically famous for the breakthroughs targeting the giants of Silicon Valley.

According to Maine, Allianz plans to start notifying affected individuals on August 1.
