Amazon’s Zoox is recalling vehicles to update software after a crash in Las Vegas

Zoox Maker Robotaxi, owned by Amazon, started a summons to update the programs in 270 drivers after a break in Las Vegas.

Zoox announced the recall of the program on Monday, saying that the update addresses the “root cause” of the recent collision and has already been published in vehicles that are likely to be damaged.

The collapse, which included an uninterrupted offer for the Zoox Robotaxi and the passenger car in Las Vegas on April 8, according to the NHTSA traffic safety department from the company. No one was injured in the accident.

Zoox said on Monday on his website that the accident occurred after it was a passenger car “quickly approaching the corridor as Robotaxi was created for this purpose traveling.”

The company conducted a “strict analysis and test” to determine what led to a collision, according to Zoox. It also temporarily stopped vehicles without driver.

According to the NHTSA report, the old version of the already installed driving system in Robotaxis Zoox “may make an inaccurate prediction when another vehicle approaches vertically and stops” in certain situations, hindering its ability to “avoid collision”.

“All Zoox vehicles are on the road today, including Robotaxi designed for this purpose and Test, they have updated programs,” Zoox said on its website.

Zoox added that she sought to “show our commitment to transparency, organizational compliance and the integrity of the contestant in the societies that we serve” with voluntary summons.
