American Airlines follows United, Delta with free Wi-Fi offering

American Airlines plans to launch free Wi-Fi across most of its fleet starting next year.

The transport company is cooperating with AT & T to provide the service, which will be available exclusively for members of the loyalty program, making it the latest airline to target it towards frequent bulletins.

Starting in January 2026, US Airlines will offer free Wi-Fi to the ADVANTAGE program, which liberates joining, which covers more than two million flights annually, according to the transfer of the carrier. The airline says this step will make Wi-Fi available on 90 % of its fleet or “more aircraft than any other local transport company.”

While Wi-Fi was available on America, it came at a cost. According to its website, customers can pay $ 10 per trip to reach service, or they can obtain monthly or annual permits for up to two devices.

Monthly passes ranged from about $ 50 per device to $ 60 for two people. The annual passes were about $ 600 for one device or about 700 dollars for two.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved the first plane equipped in United in March. The date of its first commercial trip was set in May, just eight months after the deal with the affiliate company Spacex.
